South Bethlehem has its first organized residents' association, the South Bethlehem Area Association.
The new group spun off from a community event Oct. 6 in which residents and 75 employees of the General Electric Co.'s Plastics Division operation in Selkirk got together to build a playground for youngsters, the first ever in the quiet, rural hamlet. The group meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the South Bethlehem Church Hall, Willowbrook Avenue.
