"I wish I'd have been born earlier so I could have done musicals in the late 1940s and '50s," says Carol Burnett. "I'd have loved to have worked with Gene Kelly. But I was really lucky because of the 'Burnett Show.' For a finale I could say, 'I want to be Betty Grable,' and for 10 minutes I was able to pretend I was in a movie musical, playing dress-up with a full orchestra."
Her new series, "Carol and Company," doesn't offer quite the same scope.
