Christmas is one of the most traditional holidays, but even the Hudson Valley Choral Society gets tired of singing the same song year after year.
"We've been doing the same exact program for a decade. It gets boring," said Sally Bottiggi Naramore, a first soprano and society spokeswoman.
The choral society isn't dropping its rendering of Handel's "Messiah," it's just changing the presentation. The "Hallelujah" chorus is still on the program, but the professional soloists are out, replaced with dramatic readings of the 17 solo passages by choir members.
