EVENING TO GROW ON: The Fort Orange Garden Club, area affiliate of the Garden Club of America, hosted the Zone 3 meeting of delegates from the national board and members from the 22 clubs around the state this week at the Desmond Americana in Colonie.
The Garden Club of America, founded in 1913, is dedicated to the protection of the environment and the beautification of America.
A highlight of the three-day event, including a private tour of the Executive Mansion, was an awards dinner Wednesday evening at the Desmond Americana. Honored were Elizabeth Corning, Peggy Phipps Boegner and Richard Mitchell.
