No matter how efficient your heating system is, it is not going to save you many energy dollars if the house it heats is not insulated.
Without insulation, the best heating system in the world is going to pump most of its heat outdoors - through the walls, the attic floor, even the basement ceiling. Yes, the system will heat the house, but the heat will not stay in the house, so the system will have to work harder to provide more heat to replace the heat lost.
And, on the other side of the coin, a well-insulated house, one that is tight and has good insualting windows and doors, is not going to be warm ...
