It would be hard to come up with a garden that lives up to the Victorian exuberance of Botsford House, but June Clark has managed it.
Canna's enormous leaves, yucca's spearlike foliage, and the deep purplish red of salvia mingle with aromatic clumps of lavender and the light-and dark variegated lamium.
The deep greens and purples of this growth sets off the 1892 Queen Anne, brilliant in its new paint of cream, dark green and brick red on the Route 81 hill just west of the post office in this Greene County village.
