The dirt road twisting through a remote corner of this Schenectady County town unceremoniously ends at a chain-link fence circling a barren four-acre slope surrounded by woods. A handful of old tractor trailers, rickety sheds and what resembles outhouses are scattered about a murky bog.
In a small, white shed, three men quietly go about their day, shaping gooey black dust into pucks and gluing what look like toilet-paper spools to plywood planks.
