Dec. 20--DIAMOND BAR -- A development projected to bring in $1 million in tax revenue annually is drawing the ire of conservationists.

Diamond Bar city officials are expected to vote tonight on whether to approve a planning and pre-annexation agreement with Aera Energy, which has plans to build 2,800 homes on 1,940 acres that could be annexed to the city.

Included in the proposed project in Diamond Bar's sphere of influence are 2,800 homes, a 200,000-square-foot commercial development, a fire station, a kindergarten- through eighth-grade school, and opportunity for new parks and open space, said Aera Energy Vice ...
