Dec. 20--If Ralph "Bucky" Phillips is ever back in Chautauqua County, he'll likely be in a pine box. That's what State Police Superintendent Wayne Bennett said of the career felon Tuesday morning after Phillips was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the Aug. 31 shooting death of State Trooper Joseph Longobardo, 32, of Greenfield. "I will be absolutely amazed if he is ever back in Chautauqua County alive," Bennett said after the proceeding in state Supreme Court in Mayville, the county seat.
