Dec. 20--In an interview several months ago, officials at Haywood Regional Medical Center said the challenges facing the hospital's emergency department are complex. The group presented information showing the department performed above the national average, but said efforts were under way to make the department work even better to better address patient complaints. Those in the interview were David Rice, HRMC president and CEO, Robin Tindall, HRMC public relations, Matt Lowery, nursing director of ED, and Todd Hinson, clinical director of nursing.
