"I'm not like Johnny Handgun," says Robert Downey Jr., avoiding naming whatever current Hollywood Johnny Handguns the 25-year-old actor is not like. "I'm not the skinny endearing Jewish bookworm nerd." Ditto.
Dark-haired and full-faced, Downey casts a glance toward the ceiling. "I'm kind of malleable. It's not 'he's like blankety-blank.'" I haven't been fully exploited yet. But it's early."
Things could be a lot worse for Downey, who seems to have gravitated to key supporting roles opposite stars who have been, more or less, cast to type.
