Rick Hartigan of Albany is steadily making a big name for himself in the little-known sport of squash.
The senior from Christian Brothers Academy has just received No. 1 National Ranking in the 16-year-old division, finishing the season unbeaten with 10 tournament victories. He also won three adult tournaments.
Hartigan finished third in the U.S. National Junior Championships, earning himself a spot on the United States Junior Team that competed in Paderborn, West Germany, in the Junior Men's Squash World Championships July 25-Aug. 15. The U.S. finished 18th among the 24 nations that competed.
