More than 150 people packed Town Hall Thursday night to state their positions about the inclusion of an 18-acre parcel west of Route 9 onto a map of state protected wetlands.
If Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Thomas Jorling decides the land belongs on a wetlands map, a town-approved housing project and a proposal for a townhouse and two office buildings would be in jeopardy.
The decision to keep the area off a protected wetlands map would remove one of the last remaining large portions of green space from the surrounding area, according to those in favor of its protection as a wetland. ...
