Dec. 20--Imagine walking into a classroom and 4 percent of the students have a disease that causes blindness.
Or going into another class in which 90 percent of the students are teeming with parasites that cause malaria.
Uncommon here in America, but that's the reality in some places in sub-Saharan Africa. Both conditions are problems that two local organizations —- with a financial hand from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation —- are trying to fix.
