A four-term Albany County legislator from Guilderland has been tapped as the Republican candidate in the 104th Assembly District.
Peter Ryan, 44, a real estate developer with 15 years in office, will take on the winner of the Democratic primary in September pitting seven-term incumbent Richard Conners and challenger Howard Schaffer.
"Peter was interested, he's got some name recognition as a county legislator and he knows the issues," said Paul Kahian, executive director of the county Republican Party.
The district is heavily Democratic, taking in a large portion of the city of Albany, while also covering all of Guilderland and New Scotland. ...
