In the 1990s, Trans World Music Corp., the Albany-based record and tape store operator, is planning to enlarge its empire with the introduciton of video-for-sale outlets called Saturday Matinee.
The public company spent the majority of the 1980s opening record and tape stores and now operates 442 retail outlets. Plans call for 60 to 80 new outlets this year alone.
Now, the company plans to open 50 Saturday Matinee stores with the same vigor.
Trans World's growth plans will be addressed at the annual shareholders' meeting scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Marriott Hotel on Wolf Road, Colonie.
