"Reggie, this time I promise you it's gonna be different," says Jack Cates (Nick Nolte) to Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) in "Another 48 HRS."
He's lying. But there's truth in his words, too.
They might apply, as well, to this heavily armed action-comedy sequel to the 1982 smash hit, directed again by Walter Hill.
Even by sequel standards, the story of this one is hardly different at all, as rogue cop Cates scours the streets for a team of vicious killers, while sprung convict Hammond reluctantly helps out in hopes of securing half a million dollars.
