CHICAGO -- Cook County Comptroller Walter Knorr will leave his post to become chief financial officer for the University of Illinois, according to sources. Bill Figel, a spokesman for Cook County Board President Todd Stroger, said yesterday that Knorr will leave his post once the county completes its budget process. Other sources indicated Knorr has accepted a position as the CFO for the university. Knorr could not be reached for comment.
In 2004, Knorr replaced Comptroller John Chambers, who held the job for 14 years. Prior to taking the job, Knorr had worked as a director at Citigroup Global Markets Inc., a post he took after leaving his post as CFO of ...
