About 1 million workers went on a 24-hour strike today, bringing Greece to a virtual standstill in Prime Minister Xenophon Zolotas's first major crisis since taking office less than two months ago.
The strike was in response to a call from the Greek General Confederation of Labor, which demanded a new law on collective bargaining, tax reforms and more pay.
