To call "My Left Foot" an inspiring movie is to risk trivializing it as a disease-of-the-week television film.
But inspiring it is. And, even more important, inspired.
It is the true story of Christy Brown, a Dubliner who became an accomplished painter and writer despite a difficult childhood, several warts of character that his heavy drinking didn't exactly conceal and the fact that he was almost completely paralyzed by cerebral palsy.
