Gretchen Holbrook Gerzina is a textbook case of the itinerant professor.
From her home in Clifton Park, Gerzina, wife, mother of two, Boy Scout leader and modern British novel scholar, has been commuting the past eight months to a fellowship position with Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison at Princeton University in New Jersey.
In the fall, Gerzina begins a new assistant professorship position in the English department at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie.
In the past five years, she's done teaching stints at Stanford University, the State University at Albany and Skidmore College.
