Roy Halston Frowick, the fashion designer known as Halston, has died of cancer. He was 57.
Halston died in his sleep at 11:21 p.m. Monday at Pacific Presbyterian Hospital, according to his brother, Robert Frowick, and hospital nursing supervisor David Rein.
A top-rated designer, Halston worked for Bergdorf Goodman in New York City before opening his own couture house in 1968. His clients included Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Gloria Vanderbilt and Catherine Deneuve.
