Residents of the South Bethlehem area are feeling the pinch of being in the site of any future industrial development.
Though some town residents may see more industry as a way to improve the town's tax base and help offset property taxes, homeowners here are worried about simpler things, such as the air they breathe, said Pat Hamilton, a member of the South Bethlehem Neighborhood Association.
"We can live with what we have," said Hamilton of the Owens-Corning Fiberglas
Corp. and the General Electric Plastics plant nearby. "What we don't know about are those future developments."
