GLENS FALLS - The way the history books read, art is clearly the domain of men. The efforts of male artists, from da Vinci to Picasso to Warhol, have been well recorded and their creative efforts recognized for their significance.
But the opposite sex, which was out there all along mixing oil paints and molding clay, is conspicuously missing from the record.
"Women in general have been overlooked in the history of art," said Monique Desormeau, education coordinator for the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls.
