Mercury is becoming a hot toxin, a rival to dioxin as No. 1 on the environment's least-wanted list.
Environmentalists are using mercury emissions as debating points against the development of trash- burning incinerators.
Mercury levels of fish in the remote freshwater lakes of Minnesota and elsewhere are raising new concerns about mercury emissions from incinerators, as well as coal- fired power plants.
