Mary Docter says she is straight now, free of the drugs and alcohol that blurred her U.S. Olympic speed skating achievements as well as years of her life.
And now, she is proving she can compete drug-free, too.
Docter, 30, won the women's 5,000- meter Olympic time trials here this weekend, qualifying for her fourth Olympic team.
The 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France, will be much different than the 1988 Olympics in Calgary, she said. Docter said that in 1988, she was as concerned about having a good time as she was about skating.
