Despite the dismissal of charges that an Albany Internal Revenue Service official directed a tax probe of his neighbors out of revenge, a congressional subcommittee plans to continue its investigation of the local office.
"The case is not closed," said a spokesman for the House Government Subcommittee on Commerce, Consumer, and Monetary Affairs, which has been investigating high-level misconduct and abuses of power in the IRS nationwide. "The record is still open."
