An exhibit exploring American fashion trends and conventions between 1865 and 1965 will be on view at Colonie Shopping Center through Sunday.

Britannica USA, an American marketing branch for the encyclopedia giant, the exhibit includes 12 life-size dioramas portraying mannequins dressed as men, women and children in clothing styles popular for special occasions.

Created in 1987, the exhibit is intended to convey information about cultural changes that influenced fashion trends, particularly for women, said Ivan Sarudi, coordinator of national marketing for company.
