Six-party Talks Resume After 13-month HiatusSEOUL (Yonhap) -- In Beijing this week, the six-party talks to end North Korea's nuclear weapons program got under way, but there was still no breakthrough as of Dec. 20 as Pyongyang and Washington wrangled over the thorny issue of the financial sanctions imposed on the communist country.
Nevertheless, there were hopes of substantial progress in the slow-moving talks as the negotiators decided to extend the talks one more day until Dec. 22.
