Jim McLaren is living proof that being disabled does not mean unable, and he believes the same axiom applies to the terminally ill children at Camp Good Days and Special Times. McLaren, whose left leg was amputated below the knee six years ago, competes in marathon runs and grueling triathlons - events that combine endurance swimming, biking and running.

"I'd really like to make being disabled a little more mainstream," MacLaren said Tuesday at the camp's Albany office.
