Just in case Eugene residents haven't noticed, the City Council is getting serious about planning a new City Hall.
Last week, the council ordered schematic designs for a new city headquarters on the block bounded by Seventh and Eighth avenues and Willamette and Oak streets, south of the Hilton Eugene and near the Hult Center for the Performing Arts.
If built there, the new City Hall would replace the existing government building two blocks to the west.
