The Albany City School District may be able to salvage at least part of its driver education program next fall, the district's assistant superintendent for business affairs said Tuesday.

Bruce Venter said that although the district's new budget calls for eliminating driver education, there is "a glimmer of hope" the program could be partially restored. "We might have one or two (driver education) teachers instead of three and we could serve at least the seniors," Venter said.
