Drew Pearson knows what it's like to walk away from professional football. He's done it twice already.
The first time, after a terrible car accident in which he lost his brother and in which he lacerated his liver, Pearson was not allowed back into the game. Doctors for the Dallas Cowboys wouldn't clear him when he attempted a comeback.
"Sudden retirement" is what Pearson calls this departure from the sport he loved. It was an abrupt ending, he said, to a life lived in the fast lane.
