Golf's gossips have long known the Ian Baker-Finch rap sheet. It's just two lines long. He is Australian but certainly no Greg Norman. And he is male but certainly not macho: too timid to go eyeball to eyeball with an opponent and flatten him on the final day of a golf tournament.
Time to start a new rap sheet.
At the British Open, Baker-Finch buried Norman by eight shots, shooting a final-round 66 Sunday to finish not only as low Australian but low world, winning golf's oldest major championship with an 8-under-par total of 272.
