Police were still searching Thursday for the man who threatened a cashier and robbed a Second Avenue convenience store Wednesday night.

The robbery occurred shortly before midnight when the suspect reached into the cash register of the Stewart's store at 2458 Second Ave. as a clerk opened the drawer to make change, grabbed $70 in bills and rolled change, and ran off, police reports said.

The suspect, police said, told the cashier he had a weapon but never showed one, and said, "Don't tell anyone," during the theft.
