Angola:
Angola is Africa's fourth-largest nation, three times the area of Texas. It has a population of 10 million. The capital is Luanda.
Angola is rich in oil, diamonds and other minerals. It has the potential for agricultural self-sufficency and is a major exporter of crops including coffee, tobacco and cotton. Its Atlantic coast has rich fishing grounds.
The civil war has crippled the economy and a four-year drought threatens 2 million people with starvation.
