On heels of basic cable roll-out, Fox unveils movie outlet

No sooner had Fox Inc. launched its new fX basic cable television service, than fX turned around and announced that it will create yet another cable network - this one to show movies culled from Fox's own 2,000-film library.

The new Fox Movie Studio all-movie network, to be headquartered at Fox's Century City lot, will offer commercial-free films of all genres spanning the studio's 60 years of making movies.

The Fox Movie Studio network will begin broadcasting in the fourth quarter, said fX Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Anne Sweeney.
