Psychologists at the State University at Albany's Center for Stress and Anxiety Disorders want to help people older than 60 who suffer from headaches learn how to relax.

They believe relaxation exercises can help older people find relief from migraines and muscle-tension headaches without using drugs.

Center psychologists regularly use biofeedback relaxation techniques to treat such ailments as hypertension and chronic headaches. However, in earlier clinical studies, older patients had more difficulty learning these biofeedback exercises.
