Residents of the hamlet of Selkirk are fed up withthe noise and dangers of heavy truck traffic onRoute 396 - and town officials are attempting to dosomething about the problem.
A long-standing conflict between the residential character of the hamlet and the trucks traveling on Route 396 - the hamlet's main road - night and day has prompted the town to survey the situation and then make recomendations to the state.
Supervisor Ken Ringler, who met with some 100 residents of Selkirk Monday night on the issue, said Thursday that the town planning department will do the study.
