Gov. Mario M. Cuomo said Tuesday that he'd consider a legislator's proposal to prohibit the disclosure of an alleged rape victim's name without the person's consent.

"I'll look at that bill," Democrat Cuomo said of the proposal from state Sen. Nicholas Spano, a Westchester County Republican. "I'm not going to say I'll sign it."

Cuomo's statement came as he leveled harsh criticism at NBC and the New York Times for revealing the name of the woman who says she was raped by a member of the Kennedy family in Palm Beach, Fla.
