Only a few seconds remained in the University of North Carolina's basketball game Thursday night.
Starting shooting guard Scott Cherry raced down the court with the ball. The sophomore from Ballston Spa stopped behind the 3-point arc, set his feet and let fly with a Cherry Bomb at the buzzer.
Swish.
As Cherry left the court his teammates surrounded him and offered individual back slaps and congratulations.
No, this didn't happen in a Tar Heels' Fantasy Camp. Cherry did receive the first starting assignment of his North Carolina career, and he did beat the clock, even if his shot had no bearing ...
