Saudi Arabia's highest religious authority has issued a decree sanctioning a holy war against Saddam Hussein by all Muslims and "those assisting them" to evict his forces from Kuwait.
The fatwa, or religious decree, authorizing the jihad, or holy war, was issued by Sheik Abdulaziz bin Abdulla bin Baz, the head of the Council of Ulema, Saudi Arabia's most senior Islamic authority.
