A religious charity has received a $5 million grant from a foundation that gave away all its money this month in a tug of war over its founder's assets.
Family Rosary Inc. in Guilderland expected to get some money from the Milwaukee-based De Rance Foundation when it applied for a grant to memorialize Family Rosary's founder.
But officials had no idea that it would be so large.
The $5 million was part of $100 million in assets the De Rance Foundation gave away to keep the wealth from allies of the group's deposed founder.
