Dec. 22--KINSALE -- Dropping 12-foot tongs into the shallow water of the Yeocomico River one morning this week, Gloucester waterman Jimmy Brown pulled up a load of oysters that would catch the eye of any Virginia oysterman who hopes to see his ailing industry survive. The oysters had grown to maturity after 14 months in the river on the Northern Neck and were not eaten by predatory cow-nosed rays.
