Budget requests for state sorted: Education leaders have asked for larger appropriation of money.

Dec. 25--Lawmakers are sorting through agency budgets for the upcoming legislative session, and none is bigger than the requests from education leaders. Education makes up more than half the state budget, with more than $4 billion appropriated in the last legislative session to fund higher and common education and the Career Tech system. But each year education leaders ask for more, and this year is no different, budget leaders said.
