You don't need a guidebook to find Metsker Maps of Seattle, founded in the 1950s and long one of the city's most famous retailers.
Now located on First Avenue just north of Pike Place Market, Metsker is a frequent stop for tourists, especially those using the nearby cruise-ship terminal, co-owner Skip Ross said.
"I do think we're a Seattle institution," said Ross, one of the four owners who bought the store in 2000.
"We try to have something for everyone, whether they're here once on their way to the Inside Passage or regulars who come in every week."
