Dec. 27--Emeka Okafor rose toward the rim midway through the third quarter, and the Charlotte Bobcats seemed on their way to shocking another elite team. Then Erick Dampier's hand intervened, and the Mavericks did what they were supposed to do, beating Charlotte on Tuesday night for the sixth straight time, 97-84. With the home win and San Antonio's loss to Milwaukee, the Mavericks took over first place in the Southwest Division.
