Dec. 27--Farmers across the nation are expected to plant more corn acres in 2007 to take advantage of high prices -- and Kentucky farmers will likely plant even more than the national average. Corn growers in Kentucky are expected to increase their acres by at least 10 percent next year, said Todd Barlow of the Kentucky Corn Growers Association. Although the organization has not done an official survey of planting intentions, Barlow said farmers want to plant more corn in the coming year. "I think in Kentucky, 10 percent will be the minimum (increase)," Barlow said. "If we have a good spring, they'll plant more than that."
