The Bible, of course. But some scholars contend instead that she offered him a pomegranate, leading the way to God's banishing them from the garden. Long associated with health and rebirth, the pomegranate is one of earth's earliest cultivated fruits. Native to the Middle East and the Himalayas in northern India, pomegranates have been grown throughout the Mediterranean region since ancient times.
