Former President Ford will be memorialized with ski runs named for him at both Vail and Beaver Creek, Vail Resorts announced Wednesday as the community came to terms with his death.
In Vail, police placed back tape across their badges to honor Ford, whose Western White House made the ski resort's international reputation more than 30 years ago.
Across the community, "People are collecting their thoughts about President Ford's death because it happened so late (Tuesday)," said John Dakin, spokesman for the Vail Valley Foundation. Ford was a founding member of the board of the foundation, which sponsors ...
